The Adverse Consequences of Surrogacy

On Tuesday, 18 November 2025, the European Christian Political Party (ECPP), together with member of the European Parliament (MEP) Bert-Jan Ruissen, Chair of the Working Group on Human Dignity, will host a private dinner with Ms Reem Alsalem, United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women and Girls, to discuss the adverse consequences of surrogacy.

The Adverse Consequences of Surrogacy

Ms Alsalem will speak about the latest UN report on the adverse consequences of surrogacy practices. The Special Rapporteur calls for a complete ban on surrogacy due to the consequences of this practice for both mother and child.

Other speakers include MEP Bert-Jan Ruissen and ECPP President Valeriu Ghilețchi.

The event will take place in the MEP Salon of the European Parliament.

It is a private dinner and not open to the public.
