Fair Solutions for Foreign Currency Loan Victims in Europe

The European Christian Political Party (ECPP) and its Hungarian member party Jobbik will host an international conference in Budapest on Saturday, 15 November 2025, addressing the long-term social and economic consequences of foreign currency loans across Central and Eastern Europe.

Fair Solutions for Foreign Currency Loan Victims in Europe

The conference aims to foster a broader European dialogue on strengthening fairness, transparency, and accountability in the banking system, while upholding and promoting Christian-democratic values such as justice and solidarity.

Bringing together policymakers, economists, legal experts, and civil society representatives, the event will explore national experiences, identify common European challenges, and propose coordinated solutions to support the victims of unfair financial practices.

The goal is to raise awareness of the moral and financial dimensions of the foreign currency loan crisis, promote international cooperation for fair compensation and prevention mechanisms, and develop policy proposals for submission to the European Parliament and European Commission.

In the long term, the conference seeks to lay the groundwork for a European network dedicated to protecting citizens from predatory financial practices, ensuring such crises cannot be repeated.
