Czech Party SD-SN joins ECPP

Brussels, 5 February 2026 – The European Christian Political Party (ECPP) is delighted to announce that Spojení demokraté – Sdružení nezávislých (SD-SN – United Democrats – Association of Independents) from Czechia has joined ECPP as a new member party.

Czech Party SD-SN joins ECPP

SD-SN is a centre-right conservative political party that adheres to the values of responsibility, solidarity and freedom. In 2024, the head of the SD-SN list for the European Parliament elections- Ondrej Dostal– was elected MEP. The party is also represented in regional assemblies across Czechia. The SD-SN is currently led by former senator and paediatrician Dr. Alena Dernerová.

Following a rigorous application process, the ECPP Board approved the Czech party’s membership. SD-SN is the first Czech party to become a member of ECPP, and its accession marks an important step forward in promoting Christian values in Europe.

Valeriu Ghilețchi, President of ECPP:

We are grateful to welcome SD-SN as a new partner and member of our political family. Over the past few months, we have had the opportunity to connect and get to know each other, leading us to conclude that we share core values and a common commitment to pursuing politics from the perspective of human dignity. We are confident that this cooperation will be fruitful and that we will mutually strengthen one another.”

Dr. Alena Dernerová, President of SD-SN:

We are very pleased to have become part of the ECPP community. We see membership in ECPP as a natural step that strengthens our international presence and creates space for meaningful cooperation on both political and non-political, particularly expert-level, issues. In a time of heightened uncertainty and rapid societal change, we consider it essential to share experience, coordinate positions, and seek responses based on responsibility, human dignity and common sense. Like ECPP, our party SD-SN has strong Christian-conservative roots and places emphasis on democratic principles, sovereignty, and social cohesion. From our cooperation, we expect open dialogue, mutual inspiration, and joint efforts to promote realistic and long-term sustainable solutions.”

With the accession of SD-SN, ECPP continues to grow as a strong European political family rooted in Christian values, cooperation, and the dignity of every person.
