2026 Croatia Theme: Diplomacy and Peace in a Divided World.
This theme responds to urgent global and regional realities: eroding trust in institutions, persistent conflict, new security challenges, and growing social and economic divides. The program examines diplomacy not only as a tool of governments and international negotiations, but also as a practice rooted in communities, civil society, and cross-border cooperation that can foster resilience, stability, and hope.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Explore key diplomatic and peacebuilding challenges facing Europe and Southeast Europe through real-world cases and guided academic perspectives.
• Develop practical skills in negotiation, mediation, and strategic communication through interactive workshops that reflect contemporary leadership challenges.
• Reflect on the role of ethical principles—such as integrity, dignity, transparency, and accountability—in decision-making, particularly in complex and uncertain contexts.
• Examine the connections between social entrepreneurship, economic diplomacy, international trade and peacebuilding, exploring how economic initiatives can strengthen communities and support social cohesion.
• Design a meaningful leadership or community-impact project, with mentorship and guidance on how to move from idea to implementation.
• Build lasting connections with peers, practitioners, and mentors from diverse countries, sectors, and generations who share a commitment to dialogue and transformation.

EDI 2026 will combine engaging lectures with practical workshops on diplomacy, security, entrepreneurship, communication, negotiation, artificial intelligence, and moral leadership in divided societies.
