ECPP Values

Our political work is underpinned by seven guidingĀ principles, which are based on the teachings of Jesus.

Dignity

Human
Dignity

ECPP stands for the intrinsic value of every human being, as stated in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. It is our core value to which all the others are connected. We promote a culture of life throughout Europe.

Family

Healthy
Families

Healthy families are the basis for thriving societies. We believe that stable, loving relationships between parents are crucial for the wellbeing of their children.

Sustainability

Economy Benefitting People & Planet

ECPP has a relational view of economy and understands the purpose of all economic activity as supporting life and advancing well-being for all.

Freedom

Freedom, Security and Stability

Real freedom of faith, conscience and expression only becomes visible through relations with those who feel, think or act differently.

Abolition

Fighting Modern Slavery

ECPP is highly involved in the fight against human trafficking and other forms of modern slavery at all stages: raising awareness, promoting laws and policies to combat it and survivor reintegration programs.

Reform

Reforming the European Union

ECPP promotes a vision of the EU which acts more like a facilitator and returns the power to national governments. We advocate strongly for the principle of subsidiarity and for reducing bureaucracy.

Heritage

Honouring EU's Christian Roots

ECPP recognizes the Christian roots of EU member states and believes that there is value in this heritage.

In 2021, the ECPP board began a process of consultation among all ECPP members and associates regarding our party's identity and profile.

This is ECPP's Identity Declaration, a fundamental document we hope will foster further unity and cohesion within our political platform.
