ECPP welcomes Romanian MEPs Târziu and Sturdza

October 6, Brussels – The European Christian Political Party (ECPP) is proud to announce the acceptance of Members of the European Parliament (MEP) Claudiu-Richard Târziu and Șerban Dimitrie Sturdza to the party. With the addition of the Romanian lawmakers, ECPP further increases its representation in the European Parliament (EP).

ECPP welcomes Romanian MEPs Târziu and Sturdza

The Christian social-conservative MEPs Târziu and Sturdza are known political figures in their home country and in the EP. Together, they have over twenty years of experience in politics and public debate. The MEPs are staunch promoters of freedom, just and good governance, and prosperity and well-being for all. Their conservative profile founded on fundamental Christian values is shared by ECPP, a strong ground for cooperation. Both MEPs sit with the ECR group in the EP.

Mr. Târziu is founder and president of the Romanian party Acțiunea Conservatoare (ACT) which has representation in the Romanian Parliament. Mr. Sturdza is co-founder and vice-president of the party.

Valeriu Ghilețchi, ECPP President:

“We warmly welcome MEPs Târziu and Sturdza as individual members in ECPP. Together, we’ll increase our reach and effectiveness in our promotion of core Christian values such as human dignity and religious freedom.”

MEP Târziu:

“The Christian faith is a fundamental part of the Romanian national identity. Therefore, I can truly serve the Romanian nation only from a Christian standpoint. On the other hand, Christianity is on the defensive at the European level because of public policies that ignore or constantly attack it. That is why I am happy to join forces with other Christian politicians in an effort to save social life based on Christian values in the European Union.”

MEP Sturdza:

“Joining the European Christian Political Party is a natural step for me. I share the same commitment to defending Europe’s Christian heritage, strengthening the traditional family, and restoring dignity to every nation within the Union. Together, we will stand for a Europe that protects its roots and its people, with courage and faith.”

The addition of both MEPs marks a new milestone in ECPP’s growth and increasing its political impact at the European level in its promotion of Christian values.
