We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Mrs. Anna Záborská (77).

In Memoriam Anna Záborská (1948-2025)

Throughout her distinguished political life, Mrs. Záborská served three terms in the European Parliament, was a Member of Parliament in Slovakia, and a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She was widely respected for her political leadership and her steadfast advocacy for family values and the rights of families, both in her home country of Slovakia and across Europe.

Mrs. Záborská trained and worked as a medical doctor for over twenty years, and throughout her life she championed the rights of women, fought for their health, safety and inclusion in Slovakia as well as in committees in the European Parliament.

Within ECPP, as founder and former chair of Kresťanská únia, she was a highly valued and deeply respected figure.

Valeriu Ghilețchi shared:

We are grateful to God for Anna Záborská’s faithful service. We offer our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. May God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, comfort and support her family and dear ones amid this painful loss.”

The ECPP extends heartfelt condolences and prayers to her loved ones during this time of mourning.
