MEP Reinis Pozņaks joins ECPP

October 6, Brussels – The European Christian Political Party (ECPP) is delighted to announce that member of the European Parliament (MEP) Reinis Pozņaks has joined the party. With the addition of the Latvian policymaker, ECPP now has seven MEPs, increasing its representation in the European Parliament (EP).

MEP Reinis Pozņaks joins ECPP

MEP Reinis Pozņaks was elected to the European Parliament in June 2024. Sitting with the ECR Group, he is an ECR coordinator in the Security and Defence Committee (SEDE) and member of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), as well as the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee (D-UA). He is known for his advocacy for the suffering Ukrainian people following Russia’s war of aggression, as well as his strong commitment to the development of European defence.

Valeriu Ghilețchi, ECPP President:

“We are very happy to welcome Reinis into our party as an individual member. His work in the European Parliament and his advocacy for the Ukrainian people demonstrate a commitment to protecting Christian values and the human dignity of people, especially the most vulnerable. We look forward to fruitful cooperation in our shared commitment to our core values.”

MEP Reinis Pozņaks:

“I am honoured to join the European Christian Political Party. Europe is facing unprecedented security challenges, and strengthening our common values and cooperation is crucial. Being part of this group will reinforce my work on security and defence, helping to ensure that Europe remains prepared and united in addressing today’s threats.”

Márton Gyöngyösi, ECPP Director for Political Relations:

“We have been in contact with Mr. Pozņaks for a while now. He is an outstanding MEP and committed to a good cause: protecting the vulnerable and upholding Christian values. We are very happy to welcome him to ECPP.”

The growth of ECPP represents a boost for advancing Christian values, which are foundational to the European Union. Together, we will work to promote these values—such as human dignity, religious freedom, and the protection of life—both inside and outside the European Parliament.
