The Board of Directors of the European Christian Political Party (ECPP) has appointed MEP Bert-Jan Ruissen and MEP Claudiu-Richard Târziu as vice presidents.
In this role, Mr. Ruissen and Mr. Târziu will politically represent the ECPP alongside President Valeriu Ghilețchi. The role of vice president is separate from Board of Directors membership and does not involve administrative governance of the party.
Valeriu Ghilețchi, ECPP President:

Both MEPs are experienced and qualified politicians who are strongly committed to defending and promoting the fundamental values that the ECPP stands for. Their appointment as vice presidents strengthens ECPP as the only European political party explicitly promoting Christian values.”
Bert-Jan Ruissen is a Dutch MEP for the 2024-2029 mandate, his second term, representing the SGP party. Mr. Ruissen is a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) and the Committee on Fisheries (PECH), as well as the vice-chair of the Delegation for Relations with Israel. He also co-chairs the Intergroup on Freedom of Religion and Belief.

Claudiu-Richard Târziu is a Romanian MEP for the 2024–2029 mandate, serving his first term in the European Parliament. He is the founder and president of the Romanian ACT – Acțiunea Conservatoare (Conservative Action) Party. Mr. Târziu is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), and member of the Delegation to the EU–Türkiye Joint Parliamentary Committee (D-TR) and the Delegation to the EU–Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee (D-MD).
Claudiu-Richard Târziu:
“First of all, I would like to thank my colleagues for the trust they have shown by electing me to the honourable and demanding position of vice president of the ECPP. I take on this responsibility with the desire to make a significant contribution to achieving two important objectives for all of us. The first: defending and promoting our values, rooted in the Christian faith, in the public policies that we will articulate as a party. Protecting life from the moment of conception is a moral obligation that I have always considered a top priority. The second objective is to develop the ECPP so that, from 2029 onwards, it will have its own political group in the European Parliament. May God help us in all this good work!”
